The distribution board is a metal box mounted on a wall, typically found on the inside of a garage in a newly built home.

Is a distribution board the same as a consumer unit or a fusebox?
A distribution board and a consumer unit are the same, however, the correct terminology for a domestic installation is a consumer unit. A fusebox is the old term used for a distribution box, which is still commonly used.
