Rented Property
As the owner of a rented property, it is your responsibility to ensure the property is safe and the electrical systems meet the standards set by the government. This means that if the tenants identify any problems, they should contact the tenant, who should organise for an electrician to fix the issue as soon as possible. This law was introduced in 1994, under the The Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations Act.
From 1st July 2020, all landlords must complete an electrical check before starting tenancy. This has been introduced to ensure the safety of the property and the wellbeing of the new tenants. With this regulation being in place, we can offer our maintenance, installation and testing services to tenants who are either needing to complete an electrical check, or for those who have an issue raised by the tenant. By law, the properties need 5 year electrical installation condition reports carried out to ensure the electrics are safe, and meet regulations.
